Seattle Center serves as the City of Seattle's premiere gathering place by bringing together richly varied communities.

Many cultural and arts events take place on the Seattle Center campus, including arts performances and cultural festivals

Seattle Center offers venues to accommodate performances, meetings, conferences, workshops, exhibitions and other programs. Space rental varies from meeting rooms to the Seattle Center grounds.

Community groups have the opportunity to co-produce events at Seattle Center. Seattle Center staff provide technical, artistic and promotional assistance with events or projects put on by community groups. For more information, send e-mail to SCPrograms@seattle.gov.

Seattle Department of Planning and Development advises the Mayor, City Council and City departments, such as the OFFICE OF ARTS & CULTURAL AFFAIRS, in connection with design and environmental aspects of Capital Improvement Projects, as well as many projects in the public right-of-way such as kiosks and street furnishings.

Seattle Mayor's Office of Film and Music issues permits for filming in Seattle. Many activities (feature films, commercials, one reels, student projects, television programming, music videos or public service announcements) will require a Master Film Permit for the use of city streets, sidewalks, and public parking.

The Office of Film and Music offers film manuals and permit applications.

Seattle Office of Housing invests in and promotes the development and preservation of affordable housing that offers opportunity for individuals, families and communities to thrive. The Office of Housing offers resources such as housing, homeowner's assistance, tenant and landlord services and utility assistance programs.

Parks and Recreation offers an array of performing and visual arts programs. Arts organizations operate in facilities under contract with the City. Contact these organizations directly for additional information on their programs.

Parks and Recreation's 24 community centers provide a variety of arts and cultural programming. Some programming is incorporated into overall programming for populations such as seniors and teens. Community centers also sponsor special events that may include arts and cultural activities, such as neighborhood festivals.
