The Academy of American Poets
The largest organization in the country dedicated to the art of poetry. Founded in 1934, the Academy assists poets in all stages of their careers.

Artslynx
Provides links to literary organizations, online journals, writing tools and resources, and other miscellaneous information.

Associated Writing Programs (AWP)
A literary arts organization that supports its members by providing a stimulating structure in which writers and lovers of literature can thrive.

Authors Guild
Advocates for writers on issues like fair compensation, free speech, and copyright, and provides extensive support services to members.

Editorial Freelancers Association
Provides services to help promote the work of members, which includes editors, writers, researchers, indexers, publishers, proofreaders, and others with various skills.

National Book Critics Circle
Encourages and supports high quality literary criticism by providing critics with information, contests, and opportunities to discuss critic standards.

National Endowment for the Arts
Provides a resource center with links for information about health, funding, accessibility, and other services.

National Writers Union
Supports freelance writers of all genres by offering numerous resources ranging from health care to grievance resolution.

PEN American Center
An organization promoting and encouraging reading through various programs, funding opportunities, and by providing a forum of discussion.

Poetry Society of America
