  Arts Education

Education in the arts and through the arts are essential to the development of well-rounded, thoughtful and articulate people. Numerous studies show that arts activities integrated into classrooms improve student learning. Out-of-school activities have been shown to strengthen a sense of self and build community. The Arts Education component of the Arts Resource Network encourages and supports development and implementation of arts-based activities in both traditional and alternative learning settings such as neighborhood, community, senior and cultural centers.

Success in these endeavors lies in access to information - information about interested individuals, arts organizations, schools and community groups, and how to set up a project. Many people in our community understand, appreciate and want to incorporate the power of art into a learning context but don't know how to start a project or find a suitable partner.
